Weekends

So I am going to group the last couple weekends together. My visit to Chalma with Rubi will have its own special post because if I didnt this post would get way to long and people would conplain I write to much. HAHA. This is going to be long considering that I have 2 weekends to write about.

Weekend of May 28-May 30
My weekend started off great. In Mexico, I consider my weekend starting off on Thurday night because even though I have Spanish on Fridays, I like thinking I have a 3 day weekend.  Anyhoo, Thursday was the first Thursday night of the semester with the new students , so I took them to Carlos N Charlies. This is the bar/club where you go if you are going out on a Thursday night . I also know about 5 of the waiters there so it makes it all the more fun.  We danced to all the awesome Mexican pop music and had a great time. I really enjoyed hanging out with the new students and getting to know them better. It was one amazing night. The following day, Friday , was hard to get up to go to class, but I managed and got through the day.
Friday night: I went out with Rubi, my Mexican friend. I had gotten invited by one of the waiters that I know from C N C  to go to a party at Carlos N Charlies. Rubi and I got there . Rafa got us in for free because I was not about to pay to get into the party if I have connections.  We got into the bar, and sat there and drank over priced drinks and waited for something to happen. Nothing ever did happen and Rubi decided that we should go someplace else. That did not work out and she decided that we should just go home to bed. It was a weird night of spending alot of money.
Saturday: Had a very relaxing day of hanging out at either CEMAL or I went to the town center and hung our for awhile because I couldn't be at home because the lady that comes and cleans absolutely drives me nuts. She moves all my stuff into weird places and organizes all my stuff in a way that I can not find stuff for many days. So to save me from yelling at her, I leave and do other stuff.
Saturday Night: One AWFUL night. I made the mistake of going along with what one of the host family's wanted to do instead of putting my foot down knowing the place we were going wasn't someplace i wanted to be. It is not unsafe , but CEMAL has not wanted us there because of one of the students getting assaulted there last semester, and they are known for putting stuff in your drinks that make you more thirsty. Because of those 2 things I hate the BULL and didn't want to go. I should have demanded that they let me out of the car , or I should have taken a taxi home from the club once we got there , but I didn't. Instead I was miserable and did not have good night. The stupid host sister kept telling me to smile and just forget about everything I had heard beforehand and it was a safe place. I should have left and gone to Carlos N Charlies and made one of the boys take me home , but I didnt. Finally when everyone had finished getting highly drunk and I was just very mad, they decided that they wanted to go salsa dancing. We get to the club ,everyone dances for a little while but it is boring , and then I take 2 of the boys home because they live close to me and were just sick of being out and were very tired. My Saturday night was basically babysitting and making sure people were ok.Oh well, when Nora gets back the weekend will be better. Only 2 more weeks.
Sunday: This day was spent doing homework, and relaxing around the house. I watched Segunda Oprotunidad( a post on this will come soon) and just enjoyed my day. Segunda Oprotunidad(Second Opprotunity) is like a Mexican version of American Idol but with teams. It is totally awesome.


Weekend June 4- June 6
Thursday: Went to Carlos N Charlies. Had a horrible night. Came home worried about my friend. Went to bed. Good description of my night, but don't want to go into much detail.
Friday: The group left for Acapulco, and I stayed in Cuerna because I had visited the beach in February with the other group. I spent the rest of the night watching my soap  and working on homework. Yes, I watch a soap, and it is in Spanish. I think it has really helped me to learn new vocabulary and understand Spanish.
Saturday: I woke  up to my mama telling me we were going to breakfast with Margo. This was at 8. I asked her when we were leaving and she said when ever I was ready, so I went back to bed. I think around 9 she came in and said they were leaving without me and then something else that seriously i Have no idea what else she said. You have to know that you do not talk to me unless I am fully awake. I did not wake up until 10, but then proceeded to get my laundry and then leave for the day. I went into town and went to a cafe . I ate a yummy pancake and then had fresh squeezed orange juice, and a frappe. It was fantastic.I then continued my walk into town and stopped along the way to get odds and ends of presents so that I could cross that off of my things to do. I then walked to the black market to see if I could find a t-shirt that said World Cup 2010 but they didn't have any , so oh well. Then I went to another cafe, and had my Oreo milk shake with bananas that I had been wanting all week. I spent a good 2 hours there reading my book and just relaxing. Then I went home and relaxed until the music concert I was going to down the street. It was a mariachi concert, and they were really good. It started pouring in the middle of the concert. I mean raining cats and dogs. It was crazy. At one point a lady comes in with only one shoe. She said that her other shoe came flying off her foot and then went flying down the street in the river of rain water. She tried chasing after it but she couldnt catch the shoe. It was really funny. I really enjoyed the concert.
Sunday: Today was a day of rest and relaxing. I spent the day cleaning my room and watching TV. Then at night it was the final of Segunda Oprotunidad so me and mama watched it. My team didnt win , but it was still a great show and I enjoyed hearing everyone sing. I do not know what I am going to do without it and what I am going to watch, but I will figure it out.It was a very relaxing weekend a a good start to the week.
